The California Apple Commission is Accepting Research Proposals - Due June 10th

Dear Colleagues,

The California Apple Commission (CAC) is seeking proposals from qualified companies and/or individuals to demonstrate their capabilities in conducting research that will ultimately benefit California apple growers and processors by increasing the efficiency of apple production and processing practices in California.

The 2022-2023 CAC priorities are as follows:

- Mechanical Harvesting for fresh apples

- Packing house automation techniques

- Mechanical pruning

- Management of Codling Moth

- Thinning methods

- Fire Blight Management

- GPS Fresh Apple Acreage Mapping

- Frost detection/prevention technology

- Development of Apple Varieties well suited for California conditions

- Any other topic related to cost reduction/increasing the effectiveness of California apple production.
