It's September now. Back to school AND back to the garden for winter planting.
This week is our regular monthly episode of “This Month in the Garden” on the In the Garden with UC Master Gardeners show.
Plant your P's and harvest your Q's! Snap peas, Snow peas, or Sugar peas are your planting go-tos for edible peas! Plant Sweet peas, of course, for visual holiday color! If you are into the unusual and happen to have a Quince tree, now is the time to start harvesting and planning on how to prepare since the fruit isn't desirable be eaten raw.
However, it is wonderful baked or preserved. Don't forget your leafy vegetables, too. These are just a couple of ideas so listen to UC Master Gardeners and KUCI Staff Hosts Katrina Kirkeby and Teena Spindler as they help you get off on the right garden clog this month In the Garden!
