All-America Selections! What's THAT all about?

It's been almost two years since the In the Garden with UC Master Gardeners show brought you news on the best new varieties of vegetables and ornamentals for your garden.

This week, Master Gardener and KUCI Staff Host Sally Richards talks to Diane Blazek, Executive Director of AAS (All-America Selections) whose mission statement is “To promote new garden varieties with superior garden performance judged in impartial trials in North America”.

This year, there are 15 newly released seeds and plants in three wide-ranging categories: Ornamentals from seeds, Edibles from seed, and Ornamentals from cuttings. Learn the new tomatoes, peppers, corn, zinnia, heather, baby's breath, and canna and more that went all the way to become All America Selections for 2018!

They have information on winning varieties all the way back to 1933.
