One of the things I enjoy most about late Winter is how clean the landscape often appears. Vineyards have been pruned. Almond and walnut orchards have been cleared of dead and fallen limbs. Fields have been plowed and prepped for the planting of a new season's crop. It is quiet except for the patter of rain or the songs of birds. The air is cold, crisp and smells fresh. A serenity exists in the watchful waiting for Spring.
