My Hairy Canary

A few years ago, I purchased a one-gallon plant from the Solano College plant sale. The label said Dorycinum hirsutum. I quickly planted it in my bare backyard and waited for it to grow. It's a slow growing plant and took several years to really show it's beauty and to reseed.

UCCE Master Gardeners at Home Depot

'Tis the Season for Cape Gooseberry (Physalis peruviana)

Recently, I played a practical joke on one of my friends and gifted him a basket of cape gooseberries (the same green plastic baskets that hold cherry tomatoes and strawberries that consumers see at farmer's markets and supermarkets).
