A 'Shout Out' to all our new University of California Cooperative Extension Master Food Preserver graduates of San Bernardino County who celebrated with their peers last week.   A good time was had by all. Certificates of Recognition from County Supervisor Chair Curt Hagman were especially appreciated!  

Each year thousands of county residents are reached by the program that provides valid research-trusted information on food safety, preservation, and enticing recipes!   Public classes on making bread, pizza, jams, jellies, and ice cream and classes on vegan cooking and using spices to take your recipes to the next level are regularly offered.   In addition, the Master Food Preservers and Master Gardeners of San Bernardino County partner at dozens of events at county libraries and museums to teach the public how to grow a bounty of fresh produce and how to enjoy the fruits of their labor for months to come!

UCCE San Bernardino County Co-Director Dr. Chris McDonald and I also want to express appreciation to the MFP leadership team (Dee, Pat, and Tony) for the inspiration and direction they consistently provided throughout the 18-week training class.  As shown in the photo, being presented with hand-made quilts and flowers attests to the value and respect the MFPS and management have for the leaders!
