Plant and orchard (or vineyard) scale investigations of nitrogen and water demand and fluxes, and modeling of crop nutrient and water demand.
The ultimate goal of this initial activity is to produce a model of crop nutrient and water demand. Components of the goal will include climate and phenology based yield model and nitrogen and water model in crops such as pecan and almond. Research inputs involve cooperative programs by participating principle investigators and their teams. The diagram below illustrates the interactions involved.
