How many reviewers?
The complexity and length of a submitted manuscript determines how many reviewers should be used in the ANR peer review process. In general, at least one reviewer should be from UC ANR. In all cases, the Associate Editor can serve as a reviewer.
Short manuscripts aimed at being produced as online publications
Minimum reviewers: 2 (if the reviewers don't agree, go to a third reviewer)
Type of reviewer: 1 from general subject area; 1 from specific subject area
Estimated time for completion of review: 3–4 weeks
Manuscripts of book chapters, longer electronic publications, printed leaflets, and video scripts

Type of reviewer: 1 from general subject area; 1 from specific subject area
Estimated time for completion of review: 4–6 weeks
Single-author books
Minimum reviewers: 2 (if the reviewers don't agree, go to a third reviewer)

Estimated time for completion of review: 6–8 weeks
