Marin Food Policy Council Looks to Revolutionize County’s Food Systems with “Food Day” Resolution
The Marin Food Policy Council will ask the County Board of Supervisors to join leaders across the Nation in declaring October 24 as “Food Day” in Marin County. By passing the resolution, the board would recognize the need to increase equitable access to local and healthy food by fostering community food production, expanding access to healthy retail food, and increasing assistance through supplemental food programs. The resolution also tasks the Marin Food Policy Council to work in partnership with Marin County Health and Human Services and appropriate county departments to develop strategies to address equitable food access.
