About the Event

Creating Healthy Soil

Description: Healthy soil is alive with a diverse community of organisms that work together to decompose organic matter, recycle nutrients, improve soil structure, and create pore space for water storage. All of these processes are essential for plant growth and development. At this workshop, you'll learn how to create healthy soil for healthy plants.

UC Master Gardener Presenter Kimberly Swan: Kimberly spent decades experimenting in her small fog-challenged San Francisco backyard, joining UC Master Gardeners in 2022. Interests include soils, succulents, vegetables and perennials, and garden design, studying for several years with the Landscape Architecture program at UC Berkeley. Kimberly helps friends, family and community members transform their outdoor spaces into gardens that work for them. Kimberly specializes in soils and loves sharing her passion with the public.
