Instructor: Dr. Sandipa Gautam

Course Objective: To teach PCAs/field scouts how to recognize the various life stages of citrus thrips and western flower thrips. We will also cover how to monitor citrus thrips. Citrus thrips management strategies will be discussed.

1. Powerpoint presentation by Sandipa Gautam on the biology of citrus thrips, identification, natural enemies, insecticides for citrus thrips control, treatment thresholds, and treatment choices for thrips management. Gautam will also talk about the current status of Delegate resistance in citrus thrips and mitigation measures.
2. Microscope identification of citrus thrips life stages compared to western flower thrips

10:30- 11:00 AM:

1. 2023 experiences and 2024 outlook on managing citrus thrips: Open discussions and sharing experiences
