Course Objective: To inform citrus industry stakeholders on the threat of citrus leprosis disease and share research results about ongoing vector transmission studies. Discuss pest mites of citrus and mite management.

9:15-10:00 AM: Introduction to Citrus leprosis disease and threat to California Citrus. Pest and predatory mites in citrus and best management practices; Sandipa Gautam, Area Citrus IPM Advisor, UCANR

10:00-10:45 AM: Citrus leprosis disease, identification of disease symptoms, vectors and research updates on vector transmission; Kris Godfrey, Project Scientist, UC Davis

10:45 11:15 AM: Brevipalpus mites and mite transmitted diseases in citrus and other crops (via zoom); Daniel Carillo, Associate Professor, University of Florida

11:15 - 11:30 AM: Post-workshop survey of existing knowledge, concerns, and mite management practices

11:30 – 12:15 PM: Lunch Break

12:15 – 1:45 PM: Pest mites (citrus red mite, Brevipalpus mites, spider mites) Predatory mites; Sandipa Gautam, Area Citrus IPM Advisor, UCANR; Kris Godfrey, Project Scientist, UC Davis

1:45 – 2:30 PM: Field visit for monitoring/sampling for mites, identifying mite damage and sampling for predatory mites; Sandipa Gautam, Area Citrus IPM Advisor, UCANR; Kris Godfrey, Project Scientist, UC Davis
