Master Gardener School Garden Leaders Workshop

Description: School Garden Leaders, join us to learn and share ideas at our spring workshop to be held at Highlands Elementary School in San Mateo. Workshop topics will include: California native plants for schools; evolution of a school garden program; developing garden activity kits. Following the workshop, we will tour the school garden.

School Garden Workshop Team: UC Master Gardeners Betsy Colby, Kim Ricket and Kristi Waldron. Together they have over 40 years of experience creating lessons and teaching in school gardens. The team supports school gardens throughout San Mateo and San Francisco counties by offering consultations and advice to new and existing school garden programs. They hold workshops to help educate school garden leaders and to give them ideas they can bring back to share in their own school gardens. They look forward to helping teachers and parents find ways to include gardens in their curriculum.
