Opportunities to Get Involved
Volunteer with us as we divert organic waste from entering the landfill and turn it into an enriching soil amendment! Check out the different composting systems we are testing at the site, including our continuous flow through (CFT) vermicomposting system, aerated static pile (ASP) and classic three-bin system.
You can get involved at our composting site by signing up and volunteering with us on Wednesday mornings, Friday mornings, or the third Saturday of the month, weather permitting, or by joining our community composting program as a Master Composter. Site Location
Our community composting demonstration site is located within Martial Cottle Park at 5283 Snell Ave in San Jose. You cannot drive directly into our parcel, though there are parking lots close by. The image below explains how to find us.
