Alison Deak serves as the Fire Advisor for Mariposa, Madera, and Fresno Counties. Her program focuses on improving wildfire resilience and community preparedness and increasing the use of beneficial fire in her service area. With a background in fire science and land management, Alison works closely with landowners, agencies, communities, and partner organizations to promote safe and effective prescribed burning practices, largely through her work with the Yosemite Gateway Prescribed Burn Cooperative. Passionate about ecological restoration and community wildfire risk reduction, she provides education, technical support, and guidance to help reduce wildfire risk and restore landscapes through beneficial fire.
